Tinted Moisturizers - Do Your Homework!

Hi dollfaces!!! A few months ago I got a facebook message on my fan page from my friend, former boss, and fellow blogger Erin :).  If you haven't already head on over to her fabulous blog Cha Cha Coconuts ..crazy, funny stories for days!  Anyways back to business...Erin needed a product to replace her current tinted moisturizer.  In order for me to answer her question, I've been experimenting with different tinted moisturizers.  My top four results are below.

Neutrogena Healthy Skin Enhancer

By far one of my favorite brands of all time.  Especially if you have sensitive skin.  The tinted moisturizer really helps to enhance the appearance of skin by adding moisture, evening out skin tone as well as texture, and allowing the skin to appear most natural.  The coverage is light and dries to a matte finish.  The pump is fantastic and dispenses the perfect amount into your hands.  Comes in six shades and is available from Neutrogena for $10.49.

Physican's Formula Organic Wear 100% Natural Origin Tinted Moisturizer

I like the coverage this products gives.  It also lasts throughout the entire day.  For all my women of color beauty readers..the shades do run a little light.  Just make sure you shake it up so it applies nicely on the skin.  Organic Wear has a pleasant scent to it.  Makes me think of lavendar, citrus, herbs...somewhat of a "clean" smell.  This brand gets an extra bonus because its a GREEN product.  Available for $9.95 from Physcian's Formula.

Smashbox Sheer Focus Tinted Moisturizer

Nice light coverage, and you don't need alot of it.  It only takes a small amount for a natural smooth finish.  I liked this because I have oily skin.  I didn't get shiny throughout the day and it left no streaks on my face.  Application is super easy.  You can apply it with your fingers or with a sponge.  Once the TM sets, it leaves the skin with a smooth, semi-matte finish.  Since the coverage is so light, I applied MAC's mineralize powder over top of it.  Overall a good product for all skin types.  Available for $30 in five different shades ( Fair, Light, Luminous, Medium, and Dark) from Sephora.

Cover Girl Smoothers Tinted Moisturizer

This fills in pores, and hides discolorations and imperfections, and makes skin look glowing and healthy.  One of the few TM's that is reasonably priced.  Great product for those who are just starting out with makeup.  Feels more like a gel on the fingers, but applies like a liquid and blends amazingly on the skin.  Weightless, sheer, and has SPF to protect your skin from the sun.  Available for $6 from most drug stores.

Do you prefer tinted moisturizer or foundation?  Like a more natural look to makeup?  I must admit that this is a nice change for me .

Erin, good luck in finding the right product.  I hope I was able to answer your question!

Review: Sigma E25 Blending Brush and GIVEAWAY!!!

A few weeks ago, Sigma sent me the E25 travel blending brush to review and they were also kind enough to let me do a giveaway for this brush to one lucky reader (Thanks Sigma!) so here goes...  Rules for the giveaway at the end of post :)

Description On Sigma's Website: Oval-shaped brush with gently chiseled sides. Blends and softens the look of powder or cream shadows. Ideal to apply eye shadow primer, base eye shadow colors, and blend harsh lines.

I've been using this brush to blend eyeshadow in the crease. This is also a great brush to blend out cream based eye color like MAC's paint pots or pigments on the lid.

The E25 is soft and comparable to the MAC 217 brush.  The bristles are extremely gentle on the eye lid and don't fall out after cleaning.

Overall a good quality on the go travel brush, that I'll definitely use more of.  Available from Sigma for only $9.00!  Or free if you win my giveaway!  If you a you're looking to save a bit of money go here and get yourself some good brushes.  Oh and if you order $30 or more worth of products from Sigma Make get a free gift! :)

Body Makeup...For Legs?

Do you remember my scoop post on the MAC Bronze Everyday Collection?  Since summer is almost here I thought I get a head start on my subtle but natural looking glow.  I bought MAC's Skinsheen leg spray (one of the products from the collection) the other day and I'm already in love!  It's a gel based bronzer that you spray on your legs or hands and then apply for an instant sun kissed look!  I tried the medium dark shade (sheer soft tan with golden tan pearl).  This is the first time I've tried a bronzing product and I must say I'm completely happy with it.  More product details below.

As you can see, it sprays like a mousse out of the aerosol can.  It looks kind of thick on the first pump but goes on smooth and evenly.

I had a big concern that it might break me out (yes I have very sensitive skin) but it doesn't.  At first glance it appears very glossy.  However, skinsheen has a great texture, satin-y and not oily, very light on the skin and is unscented.

After a few minutes the product is fully absorbed into the skin.  It needs to be blended with your hands but the time it takes to dry is practically none!  It doesn't look orangey at all and actually makes your legs look more toned.  ~MND Note: works best on exfoliated skin

No prep work, no carrot hands, and doesn't leave a stain on your clothes!  Oh and I forgot to mention that it's water resistant too!  Not bad for a simple spray on product.

Available now from MAC Cosmetics!
MAC Bronzing 360 Skin Sheen Leg Spray in Medium/Dark – $26.50

I can't wait to put on a sexy, short dress and show off my legs.  This is definitely a must have for the spring and summer.  Do you want and need this product in your life like I do?  Are your legs ready for summer?  This is a really nice product and totally worth every penny.
